Play Camps & Event Sessions
What Are Playcamps?
Playcamps are structured, drop-off sessions designed to give kids a fun, engaging experience - while giving you a little breathing room.
Think crafts, games, themed activities, and a little extra magic layered into the Poppins play space.
Playcamps are booked by the session (not hourly), with specific times and age groups depending on the camp.
What are Event Sessions?
Event sessions are our extended-hour experiences - perfect for evenings, weekends, or when you need a longer stretch of care.
These sessions are designed to feel a little special: may include themed play, group activities, and a cozy wind-down before pickup. These sessions will be advertised as they come up, with information about booking.

Meals, Snacks & Add-Ons
Meals & Snacks
For toddlers and children 1 year or older:
-
Snacks are included with every visit
-
Meals are available as an add-on during booking
To keep things running smoothly, we encourage families to select meals ahead of time:
-
$3.50 when added during booking
-
$5.00 if added on-site
Please note: If your appointment coincides with a meal time for a child age 1 or older, you will be notified of it while booking. The booking system will give you the option to either keep the Poppins meal in your cart or opt out and select to bring your child's meal from home. If you opt out of the Poppins meal at booking and do not bring a home meal to your appointment, the $5 meal price will apply.
Infant Meals & Snacks
Parents must provide all food for children under 1 year old.
This includes:
-
Bottles
-
Formula or breastmilk
-
Baby food or age-appropriate meals/snacks
For safety and feeding consistency, we are not able to provide meals for infants. Please make sure all items are labeled and ready to go at drop-off. Infants without required food (bottles, formula/breastmilk, and meals) will not be permitted to check in.
Allergy-Awareness
We are an allergy-aware environment and do our best to accommodate common allergies whenever possible. While we take care in food handling and ingredient awareness, we are not an allergen-free facility and cannot guarantee the absence of specific allergens. If your child has a severe allergy, please reach out to us in advance to determine if Poppins is the right fit for their needs.

A Quick Note
These add-ons are here for convenience - not as a replacement for your child’s usual routine. We always recommend sending what your child may need for their visit.

Example Visit Cost
Every visit is a little different, but here’s a general idea of what to expect:
Example:
-
2-hour visit for a 3 year old
-
$11/hour
-
$11 x 2 = $22
-
- Poppins Lunch added at booking because the appointment coincided with a mealtime
- 1 meal @ booking = $3.50
- Total $25.50 + tax (no fees) due at booking
- Whoops! You accidentally forgot socks! No worries, you pay $3 when you pick up your child. The socks are yours to keep.
Cancellations, Changes, & Credits
Because Poppins reserves staffing and space based on each booked appointment, we’re not able to make direct changes to existing bookings. If your plans change, your appointment will need to be canceled and a new one booked based on current availability.
Need to Change Your Appointment?
We totally get it, life happens. That said, appointments cannot be edited once they’re booked. If you need a different date, time, or duration, you’ll need to cancel and rebook.
Meal Changes
Adding a Poppins meal at checkout is the best way to lock in the lower price of $3.50. If you skip it during booking and decide later that you’d like one, meals can still be purchased on the day of care for $5.00.
Cancellation Timing
Canceled more than 24 hrs in advance
Full refund back to your original payment method.
Canceled within 24 hrs
Refund issued as a Loyalty Credit, equal to the dollar amount spent in original order.

A $15 annual registration fee is required for each family. It is automatically added to checkout when booking your first appointment with your family account.
This one-time yearly fee helps cover onboarding, account setup, and maintaining your family’s information in our system so booking stays quick and easy going forward.
Last-Minute Booking Fee
A $5 last-minute booking fee applies to appointments booked within 24 hours of the start time. This fee helps us quickly adjust staffing and maintain proper caregiver-to-child ratios for safe, high-quality care. We recommend booking in advance when possible.

🤝 The Poppins Promise
We’re here to create a safe, flexible, and positive experience for both kids and parents.
If you ever have questions - we’re always happy to help.
Health & Illness Policy
At Poppins, the health and safety of every child in our care is a top priority. Because we operate in a shared, group environment, we maintain clear guidelines to help protect all children, families, and caregivers.
Vaccination Requirements
To support a healthy environment for all children, Poppins requires that children attending care are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, in accordance with pediatric and public health recommendations.
Families will be asked to provide vaccination records during registration in alignment with State Childcare Requirements. These can be accessed by contacting your child’s pediatrician or by using the Docket app.
👉Utah Childcare Vaccination Requirements
If your child is exempt from vaccinations for medical, personal, or religious reasons, a valid exemption certificate must be provided. This certificate must show completion of the required vaccine education through the State of Utah. For a medical exemption from the required immunizations, a completed vaccination exemption certificate and a written notice signed by a licensed healthcare provider must be presented to the school.
We are committed to doing our part to help prevent the spread of illness within our space. As such, we take vaccination requirements seriously and follow all applicable State of Utah guidelines for childcare facilities to help keep all children safe and healthy.
Measles Awareness
Due to recent measles cases in our community, we want to emphasize the importance of measles vaccination. Many infants in our care are not yet old enough to receive the measles vaccine, which makes exposure especially dangerous for them.
We strongly encourage all eligible children to be vaccinated against measles to help protect not only your child, but the most vulnerable members of our Poppins community.
Daily Health Requirements
Children must be well enough to participate in normal activities in order to attend Poppins.
For the safety of all children and staff, please do not bring your child to care if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
-
Fever (99.5°F or higher) within the past 24 hours
-
Vomiting within the past 48 hours
-
Diarrhea within the past 48 hours
-
Persistent cough or difficulty breathing
-
Unexplained rash or skin conditions
-
Eye discharge or suspected pink eye
-
Severe runny nose (thick, green/yellow discharge) paired with other symptoms
-
Lethargy, unusual fatigue, or inability to comfortably participate in activities
Children must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to care.
Lice & Communicable Conditions
To help prevent the spread of easily transmissible conditions in a group setting, children with active lice, nits, or other contagious conditions may not attend care.
Children may return once they have been properly treated and are no longer considered contagious.
Children diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) may only return to care once they have been cleared by a physician and are no longer at risk of spreading the illness.
If lice or another communicable condition is identified during a child’s visit:
-
Parents/guardians will be contacted promptly
-
Pickup will be required
We appreciate families taking proactive steps to check for and address these situations before arrival. When in doubt, please stay home.
While at Poppins
If a child becomes ill during their visit:
-
Parents/guardians will be contacted promptly
-
Children may be separated from group care for comfort while awaiting pickup
-
Pickup will be required within a reasonable timeframe
Our goal is to keep your child comfortable while also protecting the health of others in our care.
Medications & Special Circumstances
Poppins may administer medication only when a completed medication authorization form is provided at the start of the appointment.
Medication must be clearly labeled and include dosage instructions. Our team will follow all provided instructions carefully.
Medication may not be used to mask symptoms of illness in order for a child to attend care. If a child is not well enough to participate comfortably in daily activities without medication, they should remain at home.
If your child has a medical condition, allergy, or special circumstance, please include detailed information during your check-in process so our team can best support them.
A Shared Responsibility
We rely on families to partner with us in keeping Poppins a healthy space. When everyone follows these guidelines, we’re able to provide a safer, more enjoyable experience for all children.
Behavior & Incident Policy
At Poppins, we believe behavior is a form of communication. Our goal is to support children with patience, clear boundaries, and age-appropriate guidance - while maintaining a safe and positive environment for everyone.
Our Approach to Behavior
We use a supportive, proactive approach that includes:
-
Gentle redirection and positive reinforcement
-
Clear, consistent expectations
-
Age-appropriate guidance and communication
-
Helping children identify and express emotions
Our caregivers are trained to respond calmly and thoughtfully, always prioritizing safety, respect, and positive guidance.
If Challenges Arise
It’s completely normal for children to have big feelings - especially in a new environment.
When challenges come up, we:
-
Redirect to safe, appropriate activities
-
Offer support and help children regulate
-
Provide short breaks when needed
-
Adjust the environment to better support success
Our goal is always to help children feel successful, supported, and safe.
Safety Comes First
While we support typical childhood behaviors, safety is always our top priority.
If a behavior presents a safety concern (such as hitting, biting, throwing objects, or attempting to leave supervised areas), our team will:
-
Intervene immediately to ensure safety
-
Provide close supervision and support
-
Remove or adjust the environment as needed
-
Document the incident
Behaviors that put a child or others at risk may require more immediate intervention.
Communication with Parents
If a behavioral or safety-related incident occurs, you can expect:
-
Transparent communication at pickup (or sooner if needed)
-
A clear explanation of what occurred and how it was handled
-
Documentation of significant incidents
-
Collaboration if patterns begin to emerge
For more significant incidents, we may contact you during the visit.
When Early Pickup May Be Needed
In some situations, we may request early pickup if:
-
A child is unable to safely participate in the group environment
-
Behavior requires one-on-one care beyond our staffing model
-
There is a repeated or escalating safety concern
-
A child’s needs exceed what we can safely support in a group setting
Our goal is always to support your child successfully - while also ensuring a safe, positive experience for all children in our care.
Group Care Fit
Poppins is designed as a shared, group environment. If a child consistently struggles to participate safely despite support and intervention, we may work with families to determine whether Poppins is the right fit at that time.
Incident Reporting
If an incident occurs during your child’s visit (such as an injury, behavioral incident, or other notable event):
-
The incident will be documented by our team
-
Parents/guardians will be notified the same day
-
Additional details will be shared at pickup or as needed
We are committed to transparency, so you always feel informed and confident in your child’s care.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
-
Treating every child with dignity and respect
-
Partnering with parents when support is needed
-
Creating an environment where all children feel safe, supported, and included
Every child is learning, growing, and adjusting at their own pace. We’re here to support that process - with patience, care, and a whole lot of understanding.
