Hi! I’m Caiti, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Poppins exists because I needed it myself.

A few years ago, in the midst of raising kids and juggling everything else life throws at parents, I kept running into the same problem: finding childcare felt overwhelming. Not because I didn’t care, and not because care doesn't exist - but because the process itself was exhausting. The texts, the coordination, the guilt of asking the same people again, the uncertainty when plans came together last minute. Sometimes it was easier to cancel plans or bring my kids along than to deal with one more thing.

So I started small. I opened my home to several local families through a little in-home, on-demand program called In a Pinch - because I knew there must be other parents out there like me. What I didn’t expect was how meaningful it would become - not just as childcare, but as a way to connect with other parents and feel part of a village again. I loved it. And I also quickly realized its limits as an in-home venture!

I kept thinking: why doesn’t childcare work the way so many other services do? Why can we schedule so many things instantly, but when it comes to our kids - the most important part of our lives - we’re often left waiting, hoping, or scrambling?

Poppins was created to change that.

My goal was simple: create childcare that’s there when you need it, without the stress, awkwardness, or uncertainty. A place that feels warm and fun for kids, professional and trustworthy for parents, and consistent every time you walk through the door.

I want parents to drop their kids off and not worry about them for even a second. To take a true mental break. To trust that their children are safe, happy, and cared for - so they can show up fully wherever life is calling them next.

The name Poppins is a nod to whimsy, yes- but also to ease. A place you can pop into. A solution that meets you where you are. A fun place for kids to land when their grown-ups have somewhere to be.

If Poppins gives you a little more peace, a little more freedom, or even just one moment where things feel easier, then we’re doing exactly what we set out to do.

Welcome.

- Caiti
